Another Road Trip: Ugly Mudder

There will be no Sat AM trail run this week. Instead, a bunch of us will be heading back out to Reading, PA on Sunday morning for the Ugly Mudder 7.25 Mile Trail Run. We'll meet on Sunday at 7:45AM in the parking lot behind Santino's in Robbinsville and then take off from there. There is some snow in the forecast this weekend so if we're lucky we'll get to run in it. Hopefully, the snow won't snarl the commute but we do have some extra travel time built in just in case. I don't think I need to mention anything about possible cancellations due to inclement weather -- we all know that Ron Horn is a lunatic, as are we since we paid him for this privilege.

Directions:

We'll make our way out to the PA Tpke and then pick up 422 West towards Pottstown. Getting 422 West off of the PA Tpke can be a bit of a chore so stay on your toes if you're driving. From there we'll follow the directions on the race application which are: "Rt. 422 West from King of Prussia. Just before Reading, 1 block past Arby’s & Burger King, bear right onto Bus. Rt. 422, marked “Mt. Penn”; DON’T follow sign to Reading ** Go 3 miles until road splits at Wachovia Bank. 300 yds later, JUST PAST Arners Restaurant, take right onto Glen Rd (sign missing, look for "Stokesay Castle" sign visible at last moment). At end of Glen, turn right and then take your next right just 50 yards ahead. Or follow the signs to Stokesay, the Liederkrantz driveway is right next to it."

What to bring:

For those of you who came out for Chilly Cheeks, you know the deal.

For the others, here are some suggestions on what to bring:
  • A change of warm, dry clothes for after the race.
  • Trail shoes, if possible. The more traction you have on the hills the better off you'll be.
  • A large garbage bag to store your wet, dirty running gear in on the way home.

Any questions or concerns, email me.
