This morning we met at Clayton again, in the rain, and ran the same course as last week.
It's mornings like this morning that I'm really glad to be running with a group. I worked until 2am and wanted nothing more than to roll over and go back to sleep when the alarm clock sounded at 6am. Since I knew there would be folks showing up this morning I didn't want to be a no-show so I dragged my butt out of bed and stumbled out the door.
On the way to the park I got a text from Nate saying he wasn't going to make it. I knew Bill S., who came back early from vacation due to the rain, was planning on coming out and Butch and Linda don't miss unless they're out of town, which they weren't. When I got there the three of them were waiting so we dropped into our push ups and then headed out into the trails.
We ran the same course as last week although it seemed shorter for some reason. Maybe it's because the rain wasn't as hard and the trails were a little drier. In the end, I was glad I dragged myself out of bed and got out for a run. Ok, gotta go...it's naptime! :)
Roll call: Bill S., Bill Y., Butch, Linda
You know who these people are by now
You guys are fierce!! We were out of town Friday - Saturday otherwise I woulda been there. Hopefully this Sat.
ReplyDeleteUnless that is, on a whim I decide to do Saturday in the Park instead (really nice run in Holmdel Park - ladies only!) http://www.saturdayinthepark5k.org/
ReplyDeleteJess, Holmdel Park is beautiful. If you have a chance to run there take it. I used to run the state x-country meets there in my former life. Good luck if you end up racing! Be sure to check out "the bowl"!
