Ok...calling all my Warriors, Wild Animals, and battle tested Killers. Get ready for the competition of your life!. The first annual Philadelphia Metrodash. Here's the deal...
The Race:
Competitors will receive a list of challenge points in their race bags at packet pick-up. While it varies by city, Metro Dash competitors are typically confronted with 5-7 challenge points during the course of the race. All but one challenge point will be listed; the last is revealed seconds before the start of the race. We do this to keep you honest! There is no pre-set course, which means you determine the order in which you'll run to, and conquer, each challenge - just be sure to hit each one!
There are three competition categories...
■Tabata Challenge – Tabata is an interval training cycle of 20 seconds of maximum effort followed by 10 seconds of rest. You repeat this 8 times for a total of 4 minutes. You will do as many reps possible of the stated exercise during the 20 seconds, anything less and you've failed yourself.
■Stair Climb – You'll run up and down the equivalent of a 15-story office building. Depending on the city you may have to carry a 10lb weight with you.
■The Gauntlet - This is our extreme urban obstacle course where you'll flip tractor tires, low crawl, and launch yourself over an 8 foot wall.
There are only 200 slots and they are going fast.
