Rained out at Clayton

When I woke up this morning at 6am the skies were cloudy but it wasn't raining yet. This made me very happy since the weather forecast called for rain. As I drove up 195 towards Clayton, however, the skies opened up and by the time I arrived at the meeting spot to find Bill S. waiting in his car it was downpouring. With most of the usual gang heading out to Reading or just not able to make it for one reason or another it didn't take long for the two of us to make the decision to skip the run in the heavy rain. Instead, we went out for breakfast and then headed home. For those who look forward to the reports, Bill S. and I had two eggs (scrambled), bacon, home fries, and toast (whole wheat) with a tea and coffee respectively. We did sprint from our cars into Fred & Pete's Delicatessen though...does that count as speedwork? ;-)

Roll call: Bill S., Bill Y., Fred and Pete

  1. I gotta say, I'm a little surprised you two dudes wussed out after showing up there, rain or no rain. I ran yesterday morning (although I will admit it was clear for the first 5 or so miles then I got rained on). After this silly marathon thing is outa the way for me in May I think I will need to come out and harden you guys up a little.

  2. Please do! I think if it wasn't a downpour, and there were more than just the 2 of us, we would have ran.
FYI.. Hurley, the scratch offs I bought for my boy's at Fred & Pete's, they won a combined $44.00 !

  3. I have to agree...we did sort of wuss out this week but it could have been worse...we could have ran on a treadmill! ;)

  4. This from a guy who laughed at me for asking if there as a phone number I could call in case of "inclement weather" for the trail runs. Well now who's laughing?? Ha!! Want me to work on that phone list?
PS: Fred & Pete's - nice! I'm with Progman, after all this marathon training is over I'll be happy to do the trail runs with ya'll again. I only made it once but it was fun (deadly ice trails and all).
PSS - Great job to the Mudfest people. Hardcore!
