For the second week in a row we were blessed with summer like temperatures in April. When we started our run at 7am it was already in the 50's and the sun was shining. It certainly felt more like June or July than it did April. As the day went on it just got warmer and warmer too, eventually breaking all kinds of records for high temps in April. As is the case in the dog days of summer I think we were all glad to be getting our run in early.
We started out on the bike path and took it all the way up to the tennis courts before heading into the trails and back out to the boat house. From there we turned up to the volleyball courts and navigated the twirly bird on the way out to the dam. When we reached the dam there were some requests to head into the trails behind it but since several of us had schedules to keep we decided to head back the way we came in the interest of time. I think we are due for a long run though and may just have to head back there in the coming weeks.
Despite the absence of some regulars we had a good turnout and welcomed another newcomer to the group -- Charlie brought along a friend from the Twin Rivers Club. It was great to have Sue, such an accomplished runner, along for the run.
Roll call: Bill Y., Charlie, Fred, Lisa, Mariana, Sue, Terry

Sorry I missed it.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be tough for me to make the next few Saturday trail runs. That stinks!
