Out & Back for Three

Going in today's group run I knew it was going to be a low turnout. We have a couple of people scheduled to run races this weekend -- Bill S. is running the Bordentown St. Patrick's Day 5k on Saturday and Charlie is running the NY Colon Cancer Challenge 15k on Sunday -- so those two were out this week. A couple of others mentioned last week that they had plans so they wouldn't be able to make it this week and during the wee hours I got a text from Nate saying that he was going to have to back out.

When I got to Clayton I met Butch and Lisa. Butch was back after missing last week due to a trip upstate where he put in his time running the Shamrock Run 2 Miler with family. Lisa was still coming back after a heel injury and had decided to run with us instead of her normal 9am group run due to the busy schedule she had the rest of the day. Kudos to her for making sure she squeezed in her run!

After a couple of warm-up laps around the field near the parking lot we ventured out the back to the soybean field and then cut it in uphill towards the parking lot to pick up Bridge's Trail. We stayed on Bridges until we picked up Doctor's Creek, took it uphill on the right side near the split and completed the loop by coming back out Doctor's, taking a left and heading back uphill the way we came in on Bridge's out to the parking lot.

Roll call: Bill Y., Butch, Lisa

  2. I think that my Saturday morning trail runs with you guys at Clayton helped me today. The 15K course was tough, but I survived the hills and had some gas left in the tank at the end.

I didn't get an award for finishing 557th, but if I did, I would have to share it with the group. Thanks.
