We couldn't have asked for better conditions. The trails were clear for the most part and we ran through flurries the whole way. We ran pretty much the same route as last week with a few minor changes. The gang that ran today was pretty tightly grouped the whole way out so we decided to kick things up a notch and throw in some indian sprints on the straight away that approaches the dam. This was, of course, immediately followed by the obligatory hill sprint upon reaching the dam. Here's a pic that Bill S. took of us recovering just after the hill sprint:
On the way back we came across a nice long, gradual downhill but when we got to the bottom of it I realized I "must have taken a wrong turn or something" so we had to turn around and retrace our steps all the way back up! :-)
We had a decent turnout despite the weather today. We even had a newcomer who traveled from Freehold to join us. I guess we better get back to Clayton soon so we can meet him half way. I wonder if they're still locking the gates until 8am...

Love the new nickname, Bill !
ReplyDeleteIt was a good run.
Yes, me too...thank your sister in-law for me.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Indian sprints and hill sprints - hope to join you guys again soon.
ReplyDeleteAnother great run led by Hurley. The snow falling lightly on the trails was a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I LOVE the new blog header. The photo is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, but the photo credit actually goes to Bill S. He took it last week when we got out to the dam. I just tweaked the dimensions so the header didn't take up so much real estate.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny because I took that photo. My lawyer will be contacting you.
ReplyDeleteDOH! Sorry, it was the other photo that I stole from Bill S. ;) Yes, you did take the sunrise one. Sorry about that Charlie!
